Strange but true, you gotta spend money to make money. Or at least that's what we've been told for many many years. It's a business analogy meaning that you need to advertise, do promotions, and improve in order to increase sales. There is a lot of truth to this working in regular everyday life too, and many more people are taking advantage of it. It's these little bonus cards we carry everywhere we go. You know, your plus card, your speedy rewards card... the ones that save you 10 cents or more a gallon on gas once you've spent enough to earn it. It's a bonus for you for shopping at these places, but it's also a way for them to help keep your business. Some are bonuses of freebies for dining enough. An every tenth whatever is free, or a gift card once you spend enough to earn it. Some even entice you to sign up for their clubs by giving you a freebie right out of the gate. A free app or a coupon for a few dollars off on your next purchase. Maybe even an extra points boost for signing up at a certain time. Certain credit cards have done the points and miles things for years, and people use them just to get those points or miles or whatever. Does it make them spend more? Maybe, maybe not. Might just make them use one more than the others though. Sporting goods stores now have them, car washes, office supply stores... right down the line. Everyone seems to be offering you something for using their business, shopping, or dining or washing or whatever at their business. And...
I have to say that it's really kinda dumb not to take advantage of it. If I'm going to the movies anyway, why not swipe that card and get points tword a free ticket or drink or popcorn down the road? It takes all of 30 seconds longer to do so and it saves money. And isnt that what we all try to do more these days? With gas prices and the trickle down effect they have on everything else effecting our daily lives more and more we all look for a way to save a few bucks here and there. When you go to the grocery store and they swipe your card does it really take so much extra effort to do so (you know some stores are even giving you a small bonus off your purchase for each reusabe bag you bring in to use for your purchase. If you frequent a place that does have some sort of deal like this, why not take advantage of it? Why not get a little reward here and there for being a customer? Why not get a little bit of freebie love here and there? It's there for the taking, all you have to do is sign up for it. Maybe we could even expand this into other areas. Make a card for other areas of life. Every year you work someplace, they add another 5 minute to your lunch hour (which of course would eventually be longer than an hour but work with me here) Just think, If you stayed one place long enough, you could actually just be at lunch all day. (I'd suggest a buffet and pacing yourself if you really do plan to spend that entire time actually having lunch) Ok, ok, that might be a reach, but you get the idea. Saving are there for you to take and it's really not that difficult for you to do so. Often times being a member of one place can get you savings somewhere else. That's like a double bonus. Your membership one place leads to nice saving at another, sounds pretty solid to me. Might even save enough to cover the cost of that membership, you never know til you give it a go.
And yes, a lot of these things are small savings but they do add up over time depending how often you use them.
So whip out those savings cards and use them proudly.
Say it loud say it proud.
I want my free stuff/ savings and I want it now (or at least in the sorta kinda near future)
A penny saved is a penny earned!
Doesnt sound like much these days but...
When they are dimes, quarters and even dollars it sounds a whole lot better and arent those just collections of pennies!
I'm gonna go with an absolutely on that one.

Happy saving!
